About this policy

This policy describes how the current Android version of Device Inspector accesses, uses, stores, and shares information. Device Inspector is a tool for viewing device specifications, monitoring available sensors, and saving technical snapshots. No account is required.

Information accessed on your device

Device Inspector reads information exposed by Android to display device details and create snapshots. Depending on your device and Android version, this includes:

• Manufacturer, model, brand, product, device, board, and hardware information.
• Android version, API level, security patch, and build information, including the Android build fingerprint.
• Supported CPU architectures, available processor count, system memory, and app memory information.
• Capacity and available space on the internal storage volume containing the app’s data. The app does not inspect other apps’ private files.
• App display dimensions, density, window configuration, and current refresh rate.
• Battery charge, charging status, power source, temperature, voltage, and battery technology.
• Hardware and software features advertised by Android.
• Available sensor names, vendors, types, ranges, resolutions, and live readings from a sensor you open.

The app does not request private device identifiers such as an IMEI or device serial number. The Android build fingerprint describes the operating-system build; it is not a fingerprint scan.

Basic inspection does not request runtime permissions. The current app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, or broad file-access permissions. If Android restricts access to a sensor, the app displays an unavailable or permission-related message rather than requesting additional sensor permissions.

Purposes and local processing

The app uses device information to show its dashboard and hardware screens, display live sensor values and a recent readings graph, and generate technical snapshots when you choose to save them. It stores your binary or decimal display-unit preference locally.

Live sensor readings are held temporarily in memory for display. Monitoring stops when you pause it, leave the sensor screen, or put the app in the background. The last displayed reading may remain in memory while the sensor screen remains open. Saved reports include sensor capabilities, but do not include live sensor samples.

Collection and transmission

The inspected implementation processes device information locally. It does not contain automatic uploads of device information, reports, sensor readings, or usage activity to the developer. It has no account system or app-operated cloud synchronization.

The Android manifest declares Internet access, but the inspected application flow does not use it to transmit this information. No advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDK was identified in the inspected source and dependency configuration.

Saved reports and preferences

When you select Save snapshot or Generate report, the app saves a timestamped capture in its private internal storage. Saved records contain a report title, capture time, technical information, text and JSON versions of the report, and a randomly generated identifier used to manage the local record.

Reports remain in local history until you delete them or remove the app’s local data. There is no automatic expiration period for saved reports. Display-unit preferences remain until changed or the app’s local data is removed.

Sharing and third parties

Device Inspector shares a report only when you choose Export JSON or Share text and select a destination through Android’s sharing interface. The app creates a JSON or text file in its cache and grants the selected recipient access to that file.

Shared reports may reveal detailed device specifications, software build information, battery and storage status, and capture times. Review a report before sharing it. The receiving app or service handles the exported information under its own privacy practices, and may store or transmit it.

The app uses Kotlin, AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, and coroutine libraries to provide its functionality. No third-party advertising or analytics service was identified.

Android backup

The current application configuration allows Android backup. Depending on your device, Android version, and backup settings, saved reports and preferences may be included in operating-system backup or device-transfer processes. These processes are controlled by Android and your chosen backup provider. The app does not implement its own cloud backup service.

Security

Reports and preferences are stored in Android app-private storage. The report-sharing provider is not publicly exported and allows file access through sharing permissions. Exported files are provided with read-only access.

The app does not implement additional encryption for its stored report files. Protection also depends on Android and your device’s security settings. No storage or sharing method can guarantee absolute security. Because the app does not implement its own network transfer of inspection data, no app-specific encryption-in-transit assurance is made for external sharing destinations or Android backups.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

You can delete individual saved captures from the Reports screen. Deleting a capture removes its saved history record. It does not automatically remove export copies already created in the app’s cache, copies held by recipients, or operating-system backups.

Export files may remain in the app’s cache until Android clears them or you clear the cache or app data. You can remove local reports and preferences by clearing the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app. Backup copies may be retained or restored according to your Android backup settings and provider’s practices.

For privacy questions or deletion assistance, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The developer cannot remotely delete reports stored only on your device or copies held by recipients. No in-app process for submitting a remote deletion request is implemented.

Children’s privacy

Device Inspector provides general device-inspection tools. A specific intended age range has not been established in the available information. The inspected implementation has no account registration, advertising, or automatic developer collection of device reports, including for children. Privacy concerns involving a child can be directed to the contact below.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or its information-handling practices. Any revised policy should describe the practices of the version to which it applies.
